Venue

Dear participants of the SFTI2017 symposium, please be aware that the venue of the event has changed. We are happy to announce that we will host the symposium directly in the city center in the Aula of the Kollegiengebäude I. The venue is only 600 m from ICE train station Freiburg / Hauptbahnhof and just opposite of the theater and the university library. The new venue is located in lively area with many restaurants and bars. We are looking forward to welcoming you there.

How to get to Freiburg?

You can reach Freiburg easily by plane, by train, by car.

The fastest and most comfortable way for international travellers is the connection from Frankfurt Airport to Freiburg. Travellers from Europe might consider the Euro-Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg and taking the bus shuttle from the airport that leaves at the arrival level at the French side of the airport. The bus shuttle drops you at Freiburg central station. Taxi transfer to Freiburg from the Euro-Airport is about 150 Euro.

By car

Freiburg can be easily reached from Basel, Mulhouse, Strasbourg and Karlsruhe via the motorway network. The A5 autobahn and the B3 and B31 trunk roads allow easy access to the region.

Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (EuroAirport)

The nearest airport to Freiburg and only 70 km away. It accommodates international scheduled and charter flights. Freiburg can be reached directly by the Airport Bus or by bus (www.freiburger-reisedienst.de) and train, changing at Basel (www.bahn.de).

Frankfurt Airport

Approximately 270 km from Freiburg but with an excellent direct ICE connection to Freiburg Main Station in about 2 hours (www.bahn.de).

By bus

Numerous long-distance buses connect Freiburg with many other cities in Germany and neighboring European countries, such as Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Constance, Strasbourg, Milan, and many more! Freiburg’s bus station is located at the southern end of the Central Train Station near Konrad-Adenauer-Platz.
