The microenviroment of cancers provides a multitude of signals that enable and promote cancer growth. In this paper liposomes loaded with various therapeutic and imaging compounds together with ferrimagnetic nanoparticles have been employed to target the tumor microenviroment in vivo. A cathepsin protease inhibitor delivered by this system significantly reduced tumor burden.
