Within this study it is shown that the murine HECT ligase mHERC6 is strongly induced by different pathogen-associated molecular patterns in a type I Interferon dependent manner. Together with the relatively low inducibility of mHERC6 by IFN-? our observations suggest that mHERC6 and ISGylation are basically induced by IFN-?.
