Selected signalling proteins recruited to the T-cell receptor-CD3 complex

Within BIOSS and ouside of BIOSS we have identified and analysed new interaction partners of the T cell antigen receptor (TCR). The TCR is expressed on T cells, and upon binding to foreign antigens leads to the activation of T cells and the initiation of an immune response. In this article we review the findings about five of the TCR’s interaction partners: Lck, ZAP-70, Nck, WASP, and Numb. We also discuss that some of these proteins are targeted by immunomodulatory drugs aiming to treat patients with organ transplants or autoimmunity.
