EURIdoc: Eucor Upper Rhine Immunology doctoral programme

EURIdoc is a doctoral program in the field of immunology in the Upper Rhine region. The program was initiated by the Upper Rhine Immunology Group (URI-Group), a network of immunologists that continues to thrive and expand thanks to the long-standing cooperation among immunologists in Basel (Switzerland), Strasbourg (France), and Freiburg and Karlsruhe (Germany). Eucor – The European Campus coordinates and manages EURIdoc.

EURIdoc attracted 24 doctoral fellows from around the world to undertake research at the partner institutions:

• University of Strasbourg, France
• University of Freiburg, Germany
• University Medical Hospital Freiburg, Germany
• Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany
• University of Basel, Switzerland

The Upper Rhine is an ideal region in which to develop a doctoral research program focusing on immunology and biomedical research. The EURIdoc doctoral fellows benefit from the research excellence status of the universities and their inter-connections with university hospitals. The collaboration the URI-Group maintains with leading pharmaceutical industries, with small and medium-sized biomedical and biotechnical enterprises as well as with European and international scientific organisations, all of which have become established in the Upper Rhine region,  create opportunities for EURIdoc fellows to access broader research and training experiences.
