Barbara Hobom Prize 2014

BIOSS awards yearly the Barbara Hobom Prize for excellent female scientists working in the field of synthetic biology, signalling and bioengineering.

BIOSS Centre for Biological Signalling Studies is strongly promoting and empowering women working in life sciences and bioengineering to grow, to develop and to succeed in their fields. BIOSS particularly encourages and provides assistance to young women starting their future scientific career. BIOSS awards yearly the Barbara Hobom Prize for excellent female scientists working in the field of synthetic biology, signalling and bioengineering.

Candidates should be PhD-students and conduct innovative and outstanding research in the areas mentioned. The laureate will be awarded € 10.000 for her further research. The money can be spent according to the guidelines of the DFG for lab consumables as well as for taking part in a research collaboration project with an international institution.

  • Application form
  • CV
  • a 1-2 page outline of the research project including a reference letter by their supervisor.

The applications will be reviewed by a committee established by the executive board of BIOSS.

Deadline for submitting an application is October 20th, 2014
