Barbara Hobom Prize

For the second time BIOSS is awarding the Barbara Hobom Prize for excellent female scientists working in the field of synthetic biology, signalling and bioengineering.

The Centre for Biological Signalling Studies (BIOSS) is strongly promoting and empowering women working in life sciences and bioengineering to grow, to develop and to succeed in their fields. BIOSS particularly encourages and provides assistance to young women starting their future scientific career. For the second time BIOSS is awarding the Barbara Hobom Prize for excellent female scientists working in the field of synthetic biology, signalling and bioengineering.


Candidates should be PhD students and conduct innovative and outstanding research in the areas mentioned. The laureate will be awarded € 10.000 for her further research. The money can be spent according to the guidelines of the DFG for lab consumables as well as for taking part in a research collaboration project with an international institution. The applications will be reviewed by a committee established by the executive board of BIOSS.

 

Deadline for submitting an application is November 21st 2011.
