This review is part of a special issue on “PI3K-Akt-FoxO axis in cancer and aging”. In our article we summarize and discuss the latest findings on scaffold proteins as regulators of signaling pathways. Special interest is placed on CNK´s function in regulation of FoxO proteins in cancer and cell fate decision.
