Spatiotemporal control is a common mechanism which modulates activity and function of signal transducers in the signaling network. Here, we identified acetylation of CNK1 accompanied by its plasma membrane recruitment as late step in activation of CNK1 signaling correlating with prolonged stimulation of ERK. In addition, our data indicate that acetylation of CNK1 is an important step in oncogenic signaling promoting cell proliferation and migration.
