Centrifugal microfluidics enables the rapid execution of complex blood sample analyses in a fully automated manner at the point of care. However, during blood sample addition, the cartridge is at rest and centrifugal forces are not present to allocate the sample in a controlled way. We present a versatile approach for the user-friendly, well-controlled and safe sample addition into a centrifugal microfluidic cartridge for use in serology.
