Structure and mechanism of membrane signaling complexes

Cellular signaling is mediated through protein assemblies of different complexity that operate as integrated circuits. We aim for X-ray structures of membrane signaling complexes to provide insights in the unknown organization principles of these assemblies and for a better understanding of the mechanisms of signal transduction at and across membranes. This knowledge will pave the way to challenge and control signaling processes by synthetic approaches.
