BIOSS-C
Signalling pathway sensors and analysers in living cells
Apl. Prof. Gerald Radziwill and Prof. Wilfried Weber (Institute of Biology II and BIOSS Centre for Biological Signalling Studies, University of Freiburg)
This project aims at engineering tools that help to better understand the complexity of the signalling network in normal cells as well as in dysfunctional cells such as tumour cells. (i) Tools will be developed to sense and quantify defined signalling processes with high spatiotemporal resolution. (ii) Light-switchable signalling switches will be developed that enable the induction and repression of signalling cascades with high spatiotemporal resolution. These tools will give unprecedented insight into the dynamics of complex signalling processes.
